Procedure

<>Startbydissolving5gr.ofglycogen(fromOyster,SigmaG8751)in10mlofmilli-Qwater.ExtractoncewithonevolumeofPhenolfollowedbyoneextractionwithonevolumeofChlorophorm.Addonevolumeofabsoluteethanoltothesupernatant,atthispointtheglycogenwillprecipitateinstantaneously.Collecttheprecipitatebycentrifugationandairdrycompletelythepellet.WeighthepowdersoobtainedandresUSPenditinautoclavedmilli-Qwaterataconvenientstockconcentration(10-20mg/mlissuggested).Storeinthefreezerin1-mLaliquots.
