Description:

ThePointProbe®Plus(PPP)combinesthewell-knownfeaturesoftheprovenPointProbe®seriessuchashighapplicationversatilityandcompatibilitywithmostcommercialSPMswithamorereproducIBLetiprADIusaswellasamoredefinedtipshape.Theminimizedvariationintipshapeprovidesmorereproducibleimages. 

NANOSENSORS™PPP-NCLAuprobesaredesignedfornon-contactmodeortappingmodeAFM(alsoknownas:attractiveordynamicmode).TheNCLtypeisofferedasanalternativetoNANOSENSORS™highfrequencynoncontacttype(NCH).PPP-NCLAuisrecommendedifthefeedbackloopofthemicroscopedoesnotaccepthighfrequencies(400kHz)orifthedetectionsystemneedsaminimumcantileverlength>125µm.Comparedtothehighfrequencynon-contacttypeNCHthemaximumscanningspeedisslightlyreduced.ThisprobetypecombineshighoperationstABIlitywithoutstandingsensitivityandfastscanningability.

Ametalliclayer(Au)iscoatedonbothsidesofthecantilever.Thetipsidecoatingenhancestheconductivityofthetipandallowselectricalcontacts-thetypicaltipradiusofcurvatureislessthan50nm.Thedetectorsidecoatingenhancesthereflectivityofthelaserbeambyafactorof2.5andpreventslightfrominterferingwithinthecantilever.Thecoatingprocessisoptimizedforstresscompensation.Thebendingofthecantileverduetostressislessthan3.5%ofthecantileverlength.
