RULEOFTHUMB:AlwaysselecttheSMALLESTsizepipetthatwillhandlethevolumeyouwishtomovetoachievethegreatestaccuracy.Accuracydecreasesasyouuseunnecessarilylargepipetsforsmallvolumes.

Slowlyreleasetheplungertodrawuptheliquidmakingsuretokeepthetipimmersed.Visuallyinspecttheloadtomakesureitiscorrect. DELIVERY:Todeliverthevolume,placethetipintothereceivingvesselandpresstheplungerallthewaytothebottom-thisexpellsalltheliquidandgivesalittleextravolumetogetthelastdropletout-ANDTHEN,WITHOUTRELEASINGTHEPLUNGER,withdrawthetip. G.InstructionsforUsingtheVWR5-50ulAutoPipets TheVWR5-50ulautopipetsfunctionsimilarlytotheGilsonPipetmanautopipets.Themajordifferenceliesinhowtosettheloadvolume.Thisisfurthercomplicatedbythelossofthe1ulindexring(whichsurroundstheplunger)fromseveralofthepipets. Theplungerhastwostops,thefirstbeingtheloadvolume,thesecondfordischargevolume.Thesepipetorsusethesamesmallyellowtips(yellowororangeboxes)asusedforP200andsmallerGilsonautopipets.Thetipejectorisadarkgraybuttonnearthetopofthehandgrip(seediagrambelow).
