Background:
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced by placenta after conception. hCG is comprised of an αsubunit with 92 amino acids and a βsubunit with 245 amino acids. The a subunit is identical to that of LH (Luteinizing hormone), FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone) and TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone). hCG sustains corpus luteum, stimulates progesterone secretion, hence is critical to early fetal development. It has also been reported that hCG plays a role in the development of fetal tolerance to maternal immunity. hCG is the most sensitive biomarker for pregnancy.
Application:
ELISA: This HRP conjugated antibody can be used as tracer in sandwich ELISA with our matched anti-HCG antibody [mouse anti human HCG monoclonal antibody, cat No: MO-M40049B]. The suggested working condition is 1:1000 dilution.
