IDE-1 is an inducer of definitive endoderm (IDE) from embryonic stem (ES) cells. It functions in part via activation of TGF-β signaling, as evident by Smad2 phosphorylation. IDE-1 Induces definitive endoderm formation in mouse and human embryonic stem cells (EC50 = 125 nM).
