TheCARReceptorBoosterrenderscellsthatcannotusuallybetransducedwithadenovirussusceptibletoinfection.Itcanalsobeusedtoincreaseadenoviraltransductionefficiencyinallcelltypes.Thereceptor-coatedcell-derivednanovesiclescombinewiththeplasmamembraneofyourtargetcellstotemporarilyelevatethedensityoftheadenovirusreceptorproteinCARonthecellsurface.Forexample,hematopoieticcellsorCHOcells,whichareusuallyresistanttoadenoviralinfection,canbetransducedfollowingasimplepretreatmentwithCARReceptorBooster(seedataimagesbyexpandingtheDetailsarrowintheproducttablebelow).
Howdoesitwork?
TheCARReceptorBoosterconsistsofavialofconcentratedcell-derivednanovesiclesthataredenselycoatedwiththecoxsackievirusandadenovirusreceptorprotein(CAR).Whentheboostervesiclesareappliedtoyourcells(10–20µlperwellofa6-wellplatefor~2hr),theyfusewiththeplasmamembrane,resultinginanincreasedlevelofthereceptoronthecellsurface.Yourtargetcellscanthenbemoreefficientlytransducedwithrecombinantadenovirus.
