Description : | Pyrene-PEG-biotin is one of the many PEGylated pyrene derivatives for the surface functionalization of carbon nanotubes and graphenes via the strong (close to irreversible) pi-pi stacking between the pyrene and the aromatic rings on single wall and multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Pyrene is conjugated to PEG through a very stable amide bond. It is a very simple process that requires just well dispersing CNTs with the PEG-pyrene reagents in either organic solvents or aqueous solutions. The same PEGylated pyrene reagent also works for graphene or any carbon nanoparticle surfaces with curvatures that fit well with the pyrene structure. Biotin offers the option to bind to streptavidin (SAV) or avidin. Custom synthesis of functional Pyrene-PEG derivatives is also offered including but not limited to: Pyrene-PEG-Pyrene, Amine-PEG-Pyrene, Acrylate-PEG-Pyrene, FITC-PEG-Pyrene, Rhodamine-PEG-Pyrene, Maleimide-PEG-Pyrene etc. MW options include 2k, 3.4k, 5k and 10k.
