Description	Taurochenodeoxycholic acid (TCDCA), sodium salt is manufactured from the steroid, chenodeoxycholic acid. It is a nature equivalent compound, chemically identical to the natural steroid produced in the liver of several animal and bird species, including humans.TCDCA is often used as a reference standard in biomedical studies based on tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA). Taurochenodeoxycholic acid may have a wide range of novel biological activities. Current research programs are assessing TCDCA and its derivatives as agonists of the FXR and TGR5 (among other) nuclear receptors.
