MellitusBlueC™istheconvenientcontrolcompoundforMellitusBlueprobes1-3™.Withthesamechromophorefluorescentbackbone,butdoesnotchelatedissolvedglucose,MellitusBlueC™servesasanidealcontrolcompoundforall3oftheMellitusBlue™probes.MellitusBlueC™doesnotshowanyresponsetoglucose,fructoseorotherdiols.Similartotheparentprobemolecules,MellitusBlueC™canreADIlybeexcitedfrom300-400nm,withanemissioncentredat≈460nmintheblueregionofthevisIBLespectrum.
MellitusBlueC™issolddryandissimplyreconstitutedbyaddingwater/MeOH.Onevialofourprobewilltypicallyallowfor10control-likemeasurementstobeundertaken,whenfurtherdilutedinto3cm3volumeswithinacuvette.50µLofwater/MeOHand/orbufferistypicallyaddedtoeachdryvial.Subsequently,5µLaliquotsdilutedto3cm3,typicallygiveanoptimumODof≈0.25.
Foroptimumperformance,probevialsshouldbestoredat-2to-8Cwhennotbeingused.Probesolutionsshouldbeusedafterdilution.
