ViscousHR™(HighResolution)isa modestlywatersolubleviscosityprobespecificallydesignedforfluorescence-basedviscositymeasurementsinaqueousmedia.ViscousHR™showsbothafluorescenceemissionandlifetimedependenceonsolution/mediaviscosity(andsubsequentlythetemperaturedependenceonviscosity),makingitidealforyouraqueousviscosityapplications,particularlyforwater-likeviscosityvalues,i,e,0.4–2cPandbeyond.
ViscousHR™issolddryandissimplyreconstitutedbyadding100µLmethanoland/orbuffer.Werecommendreconstitutingwithmethanolandthenaddingthislowvolumetoyourlargeraqueoussample.OnevialofourViscosityProbewilltypicallyallowfor5measurementstobeundertaken:100µLofmethanoland/orbufferistypicallyaddedtoeachdryvial.Subsequently,20µLaliquotsdilutedto3cm3inwater(orothersolvent),typicallygiveanopticaldensity>0.1at340nm(inwater).
Foroptimumperformance,probevialsshouldbestoredat-2to-8Cwhennotbeingused.Probesolutionsshouldbeusedafterdilution.
