Description
Cultrex®3DCultureMatrix®CollagenI ispurifiedfromrattailtendons and isprovidedatahighconcentrationthatiscapableofpolymerizingtoforma hydrogel.CollagenIisthemajorstructuralcomponentofextracellularmatrices(ECM)foundinconnectivetissueandinternalorgans,butismostprevalentinthedermis,tendons,andbone.Itisa300kDamoleculecomposedoftwoalpha1(I)chainsandonealpha2(I)chainthatspontaneouslyformsatriplehelixscaffoldataneutralpHand37̊C.Thisphenomenoncanbeexploitedtopromotecellattachment,growth,differentiation,migration,andtissuemorphogenesisduringdevelopment.ToprovidethemoststandardizedCollagenIforusein3-Dcultures,aspecialprocessisemployedtoprovidematerialatastandardconcentrationofapproximately5mg/mL.Thismaterialisthenincorporatedina3-Dculturetovalidateefficacy.
Cultrex®3DCultureMatrix®CollagenI isapurifiedstromalECMprotein thathasbeendeveloped,producedandqualifiedspecificallyforusein3Dculturestudies.
