Description
Glycoprotein 38 (gp38) is a transmembrane O-glycoprotein that maintains barrier function in high endothelial venules. In development, gp38 activates platelets to induce separation of lymphatic and blood vascular systems. Additionally, gp38 may exhibit carcinogenic/tumorigenic activity, as it promotes cell motility via PKA signaling and is used as a biomarker to detect various cancers.
