MEMcontainsnoproteins,lipids,orgrowthfactors.Therefore,MEMrequiressupplementation,commonlywith10%FetalBovineSerum(FBS).MEMusesasodiumbicarbonatebuffersystem(2.2g/L)andthereforerequiresa5-10%CO2environmenttomaintainphysiologicalpH.
