Anti-ALG6antibodywasdesigned,produced,andvalidatedaspartoftheJoyCappelYoungInvestigatorAward(JCYIA).DolichylpyrophosphateMan9GlcNAc2alpha-1,3-glucosyltransferaseisanenzymethatisencodedbytheALG6geneinhumans.ThisgeneencodesALG6/ALG8memberofglucosyltransferasefamily.Theencodedproteincatalyzestheadditionofthefirstglucoseresiduetothegrowinglipid-linkedoligosaccharideprecursorofN-linkedglycosylation.Mutationsinthisgeneareassociatedwithcongenitaldisordersofglycosylationtype.Anti-ALG6isidealforresearchersinterestedinInfectiousdisease,especiallyHIVandhepatitisvirusinfections.Anti-ALG6antibodyisapplicabletomethodsfordiagnosisand,inparticular,tomethodsfordiagnosinginfectionsusingbioMarkerstargetingexosomessecretedinbodilyfluids.
