AKT1AntibodydetectsAKT1whichisacomponentofthePI-3kinasepathwayandisactivatedbyphosphorylationatSer473andThr308.AKTisacytoplasmicproteinalsoknownasProteinKinaseB(PKB)andrac(relatedtoAandCkinases).AKTisakeyregulatorofmanysignaltransductionpathways.AKTExhibitstightcontrolovercellproliferationandcellviability.OverexpressionorinappropriateactivationofAKTisnotedinmanytypesofcancer.AKTmediatesmanyofthedownstreameventsofPI3-kinase(alipidkinaseactivatedbygrowthfactors,cytokinesandinsulin).PI3-kinaserecruitsAKTtothemembrane,whereitisactivatedbyPDK1phosphorylation.Oncephosphorylated,AKTdissociatesfromthemembraneandphosphorylatestargetsinthecytoplasmandthecellnucleus.AKThastwomainroles:(i)inhibitionofapoptosis;(ii)promotionofproliferation.Anti-AKT1AntibodyisidealforinvestigatorsinvolvedinCellSignaling,NeuroscienceandSignalTransductionresearch.

Anti-AKT1antibodyisdirectedagainsthumanAKT1.Theantibodydetectsbothunphosphorylatedandphosphorylatedformsoftheprotein.Anti-AKT1antibodywaspurifiedfromascitesbyProteinAchromatography.CrossreactivitywithAKT1fromotherspecieshasnotbeendetermined,however,thesequenceoftheimmunogenshows85%identitytomouseand92%identitywithrat,therefore,crossreactivityisexpected.
