Overview | Receptor for C-C type chemokines CCL17/TARC and CCL22/MDC. Functions as chemoattractant homing receptor on circulating memory lymphocytes and as coreceptor for some primary HIV-2 isolates. Can also mediate hippocampal-neuron survival. |
Molecular Function | GPCR, Receptor, Transducer. |
Subcellular Location | Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein |
Expression | Thymus, peripheral blood leukocytes including T-cells, CD4+ cells, basophils and in platelets. Expressed less in spleen and in monocytes. Also found in macrophages, IL-2-activated natural killer cells and skin-homing memory T-cells, mostly the ones expresseding cutaneous lymphocyte antigen. Expressed in brain and microvascular and coronary artery endothelial cells. |
Structure | Belongs to G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. Interacts with CREB3. |
Alternative Nomenclature | CD194 antibody ChemR13 antibody CKR4 antibody CMKBR 4 antibody HGCN 14099 antibody K5 5 antibody |
