Flamma®496 is a fluorescent dye induced from Fluorescein structure and has a maximum value of Ex/Em at 496nm/516nm. Even though it is optically similar to FAM, it has features that are excellent light stability and better brightness compared to FAM. Flamma®496 Maleimide high-specifically bonds Thiol group (-SH) containing Cysteine on protein or peptide. After conducting pre-treatment process that reduces disulfide bond in protein using reducing agent such as DTT, TCEP or 2-mercaptoethanol prior to reaction, it can conjugate Flamma®496 Maleimide and protein. Excitation / Emission (nm): 496 / 516 nm. Extinction coefficient: 70,000 cm-1M-1. CF280: 0.12.
