Thecoatingbuffercontainsanantimicrobialagenttoretardbacterialgrowthduringtheplatecoatingprocess,allowingtheproceduretobeperformedatroomtemperature.Dependingontheactivityofthecoatedprotein,platesmaybestoredat2°-8°C(orevenatroomtemperatureforhardyproteins)forseveralmonths,orevenyears.
