Overview:
Dapsone has anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects through blocking myeloperoxidase activity by promoting the inactive intermediate of the enzyme. Even though it is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory compound, it differs from NSAIDs in that it doesn't block cyclooxygenase.
