Glutamatetissuestainingiscompletelyeliminatedbypreincubationwithglutamateconjugateatconcentrationsof100µgconjugatepermLofdilutedantiserum.Aspartateandglutamineconjugatescouldnotsignificantlyinhibittissuestaining.Thefollowingaminoacidsweretestedforcrossreactivityusinganenzyme-linkedimmunoassaymethod.WellswerecoatedwithGlu-Glut-Btgat1µgpermL.Aminoacidsandconjugatewereaddedatconcentrationsfrom10µgto1ngpermL.TheGlutamateantibodywasaddedtowellsat1µgpermL.Theseaminoacidswerefoundtohavecrossreactivityatlessthan1%:Beta-alanine,L-alanine,L-asparticacid,L-glutamicacid,Glycine,TaurineandL-tyrosine.
