Description
Benzyl selenocyanate is an organoselenium compound found in selenium-enriched garlic. Benzyl selenocyanate exhibits chemopreventive activity. This compound inhibits carcinogenesis induced by DMBA, azoxymethane, or benzo[a]pyrene in various animal models. Benzyl selenocyanate may also inhibit DNA cytosine methyltransferase, PKA, and PKC.
