2-MPMDQ is a potent and selective antagonist of α1-adrenoceptor [1].
α1-adrenoceptor is a G protein-coupled receptor and mediates noradrenaline and adrenaline signal in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Also, α1-adrenoceptor mediates smooth muscle contraction.
2-MPMDQ is a potent and selective α1-adrenoceptor antagonist. In spontaneously hypertensive rats, 2-MPMDQ showed antihypertensive activity [1].
