- SynonymM-CSF,CSF-1,Lanimostim
- SourceBiotinylated Human M-CSF, His,Avitag (MCF-H82E6) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Glu 33 - Arg 255 (Accession # P09603-1).Predicted N-terminus: Glu 33Request for sequence
- Molecular Characterization
This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus, followed by an Avi tag.
The protein has a calculated MW of 28.8 kDa. The protein migrates as 35-48 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
- BiotinylationBiotinylation of this product is performed using Avitag™ technology. Briefly, the single lysine residue in the Avitag is enzymatically labeled with biotin.
- Biotin:Protein RatioThe biotin to protein ratio is 0.5-1 as determined by the HABA assay.
- EndotoxinLess than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method.
- Purity
>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
- Formulation
Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4. Normally trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.

- BackgroundThe colony stimulating factor 1 (CSF1), also known as macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF), is a secreted cytokine which influences hematopoietic stem cells to differentiate into macrophages or other related cell types. Eukaryotic cells also produce M-CSF in order to combat intercellular viral infection. It is one of the three experimentally described colony-stimulating factors. M-CSF binds to the colony stimulating factor 1 receptor. Macrophage colony-stimulating factor has been shown to interact with PIK3R2. M-CSF (or CSF-1) is a hematopoietic growth factor that is involved in the proliferation, differentiation, and survival of monocytes, macrophages, and bone marrow progenitor cells. Locally produced M-CSF in the vessel wall contributes to the development and progression of atherosclerosis.
