Recombinant Human His6-UBE2Q1 Isoform 2 Protein, CF Summary
Product Datasheets
Carrier Free
CF stands for Carrier Free (CF). We typically add Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as a carrier protein to our recombinant proteins.Adding a carrier protein enhances protein stability, increases shelf-life, and allows the recombinant protein to be stored at a more dilute concentration. The carrier free version does not contain BSA.
In general, we advise purchasing the recombinant protein with BSA for use in cell or tissue culture, or as an ELISA standard. In contrast, the carrier free protein is recommended for applications, in which the presence of BSA could interfere.

Background: UBE2Q1
Ubiquitin-conjugating Enzyme E2 Q1 (UBE2Q1) is a widely expressed, 422 amino acid (aa) member of the Ubiquitin-conjugating (E2) enzyme family with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 42.5 kDa (1). The human protein shares 99% aa sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs. UBE2Q1 has an RWD domain and an E2 catalytic core domain, the latter of which is required for the formation of a thioester bond with Ubiquitin (2,3). UBE2Q1 has been reported to regulate the internalization of the cell surface protein, GalT1 (4). Female UBE2Q1-deficient mice produce litters with increased embryonic lethality and have decreased implantation capacity of homozygous mutant embryos, suggesting that UBE2Q1 is important for female fertility (1). Additionally, UBE2Q1 mRNA and protein expression levels are increased in breast cancer samples compared to non-cancerous breast tissue samples, suggesting that UBE2Q1 may play a role in cancer (3). This protein contains an N-terminal 6-His tag.
