Biotin is a small bioactive moleculethat has high affinity toward avidin or streptavidin.Biotin/streptavidin system has been widely used inmolecule detection, bioassays and drug deliveryapplications. NHS reacts quickly with primary aminegroups at alkaline pH to form a stable amide bond.Reaction between NHS and amine enables quick andefficient conjugation of biotin tag to proteins, antibodies,peptides, particles and many other materials. PEG linkerbetween biotin and NHS group offers better watersolubility, less steric hindrance and enhanced stability.
