This kit provides a reagent set to allow simple, rapid detection of enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) by amplification of the verocytotoxin gene using PCR. It has been designed for screening of seven major serotypes within the O-antigen types (O26, O103, O111, O121, O145, O157, and O165). A multiplex PCR enzyme mix, 2X PCR buffer (with Mg2+ and dNTP), primer mix, and controls are supplied with the kit.

This product is designed for analysis of DNA extracted from food samples using the hot alkaline extraction method.
