Our Plant DNA Isolation Reagent is a ready-to-use plant DNA extractionkit that includes benzyl chloride forextraction ofplant genomic DNA. Benzyl chloride causes disintegration of plant cell walls by benzylation of the cellulose hydroxyl groups and other components of the plant cell wall. This kit takes advantage of benzyl chloride and uses it in a procedure that involves freezing the plant tissue, then thawing and grindingit with a pipette tip in a microcentrifuge tube. The freeze-thawing and grinding effectively degrade the plantcell wall.
