Specifications
UBE2C (also known as Ubc10) is an E2 conjugation enzyme that is involved in the ubiquitylation of target substrates, along with E1 and E3 enzymes. UBE2C interacts with the Anaphase Promoting Complex (APC) and as a member of this complex functions to ubiquitylate substrates and target these substrates, which include several cyclins, for degradation. As such UBE2C plays a critical role in cell cycle progression, and has recently been shown to play a key role in tumorigenesis.
