ThreemajorIgGisotypesarefoundincamel:IgG1,IgG2,andIgG3.IgG1resemblesIgGfromotherspeciesinthatitiscomprisedoftwoheavychainsandtwolightchains.IgG2andIgG3eachconsistoftwoheavychainsbutbothlacklightchains.TheheavychainsofIgG2andIgG3lacktheCH1domainpresentinIgG1.ThehingeregionbetweentheCH2andVHdomainislongerinIgG2,givingitaslightlyhighermolecularweight.
ThisELISAkitusesanti-camelIgG3forsolidphase(microtiterwells)immobilizationandhorserADIshperoxidase(HRP)conjugatedanti-camelIgG3fordetection.ItrecognizesIgG1,IgG2andIgG3andcanbeusedformeasurementoftotalIgGincamelserum.ReactivitywithIgMisnegligIBLeornonexistent.Cross-reactivitywithimmunoglobulinsfromotherspecieshasnotbeeninvestigated.
