Thespecificityoftheantiserumwasevaluatedbysolublepre-adsorptionwiththepeptidesinquestionatafinalconcentrationof10-5M.CGRPimmunolabelingwascompletelyabolishedbypre-adsorptionwithratα-CGRPandpartiallyeliminatedbypre-adsorptionwithratŸ-CGRP.Pre-adsorptionwiththefollowingpeptidesresultedinnolossofimmunostaining:ratamylin,ratadrenomedulin,calcitonin,neurotensin,somatostatin,substanceP,leucineenkephalin,methionineenkephalin,VIP,CCK-8,vasopressinandneuropeptideY.
