Synonym: 1-Pentadecanecarboxylic acid fluorescein; Hexadecanoic acid fluorescein; FITC palmitic acid.
Palmitic acid fluorescein is one of SLT's fatty acidlipid fluorescein conjugates that is highly hydrophobic. Palmticacidis a saturated C16 fatty acid that can interact well with hydrophobic cell membrane or lysome membrane. Fluorescein modified palmitic acid has strong green fluorescence with exitation/emission at 494 nm/515 nm. Palmitic acid-fluorescein thus can be an excellent membrane imaging agent.
