Description
Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that binds 23S rRNA on the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein translation and synthesis. Clarithromycin is clinically used to treat respiratory infections and displays efficacy primarily against gram positive bacteria and Helicobacter pylori.
