Description
Idoxuridine is an antiviral clinically used to treat herpes simplex keratitis and other ocular herpes infections. Idoxuridine is a nucleoside analog of deoxyuridine that is incorporated into DNA, inhibiting chain elongation. Idoxuridine also shows benefit as a radiation/chemotherapy sensitizer in glioma cells.
