Overview:
RANGAP1, Ran GTPase activating protein 1, is the control substrate, which produces a single SUMO modification during SUMOylation (1). As a GTPase activator, RANGAP1 is involved in nuclear envelope assembly and nuclear transport through interacting with Ras-related nuclear protein 1(RAN) and regulating GTP-binding and exchange (2). Also, abnormal localization of RanGAP1 was found in cortex of the patients with Huntington’s disease (3)
