Overview:
HtrA (also designated as DegP) is a trypsin-like serine protease which contains PDZ domain and involves in heat-shock response, chaperone function, and apoptosis (1). Analysis of strains with the htrA (S234A) catalytic site mutation showed that the proteolytic activity of HtrA selectively repressed competence when translational fidelity was high but not when accuracy was low (3).
Gene Aliases:
DegP, DegP/HtrA
Genbank Number:
B8ZQD0
