ELISA^PRO kit for quantification of IFN-γ in solution

The bovine IFN-γ ELISA^PRO kit provides all necessary reagents and solutions required to quantify bovine IFN-γ in solution, e.g. in cell culture supernatant, and serum/plasma samples. The kit contains an ELISA plate pre-coated with monoclonal capture antibody, biotinylated detection antibody, Streptavidin-HRP, TMB substrate, ELISA standard and ELISA diluent. The ELISA diluent prevents false positive read-outs which may be caused by heterophilic antibodies found in serum and plasma samples.

Pre-coated ELISA plates save time and reduce assay variability.

Analyte Information

IFN-γInterferon-γ (IFN-γ, also known as IFN-gamma, IFN-g, IFNg and Interferon-gamma) is produced mainly by activated T cells and NK cells. It is a proinflammatory cytokine that activates macrophages and endothelial cells, but it also regulates immune responses by effecting APC and T and B cells. Production of IFN-γ by helper T cells as well as cytotoxic T cells is a hallmark of the TH1-type phenotype, thus, high-level production of IFN-γ is typically associated with effective host defense against intracellular pathogens.
